Moving your Account
5 simple steps to make the move from your current bank to our bank.
Also you can use this same set of forms if you are closing one account at our bank and opening a new one at our bank.
Step 1. Open your Community First Bank account.
Stop by either our Menahga or Sebeka location to open an account.
If you would like assistance filling out the following forms, get your account information from your current bank account and bring it to with you to Menahga or Sebeka and our new account employees will help you make the change.
Instead of using the forms, you could make phone calls to the affected places; the forms will allow you to collect all the information you will need.
Step 2. Stop using your old account.
Let all your checks clear. This could take up to 10 business days or longer.
Continue to check on your old account. Destroy any unused checks, deposit slips, ATM and Debit Cards.
Step 3. Change Direct Deposits.
Download FormSimply fill out the form and give it to your employer, the Social Security Administration, Veterans office, or your retirement plan.
Include a new deposit slip or voided check. Instead of using the forms, you could make phone calls to the affected places; the forms will allow you to collect all the information you will need first.
Step 4. Change automatic payments.
Download FormUse this form to change all automatic withdrawal or automated payment services.
Don't forget about those that use your old Debit Card number, such as automatic payments made online.
Step 5. Close your old account.
Download FormSend in the form to your previous bank to close your old account there.
If, after all your checks have cleared, you have a remaining balance, your previous bank will mail you a check. You may want to inform them of account numbers and amounts of the last few checks you wrote.
